I am proud to say that I was a day 1 fan of Look Outside. I discovered it around April 2025, and despite not getting around to playing the game until mid-august, I was there from the start watching playthroughs and reading the wiki. I wanted to dedicate this page of my website to what I think makes this game so special.

What makes this game amazing:

For anyone who doesn't know, Look Outside is a cosmic horror centered survival RPG. However, unlike so much media on the subject of cosmic horror, Look Outside is not a hopeless feeling game. I feel like so much of the cosmic horror genre is based on the feeling of dread, and inevitablility that comes with these kinds of astronomical, incomprehensable threats to the world. In Look Outside, everything is objectively awful, there are rooms filled with teeth, and rats, and shadow creatures that stalk you incessantly if you're away for too long, but despite all this, the game isn't all doom and gloom. The characters you encounter are flawed, and charming, and so human, despite the fact that most of them can no longer be recognised as an animal. Aside from the characters, the whole game centers around this theme of hope, and perserverance, and selflesness, and the choices you make truly do matter.
I can confindantly say that Look Outside is the best game that I have ever experianced.

The art in this game.
Holy shit dude, the art in this game is phenomenal, it is consistantly so so gorgeous, the character designs are grotesque and stunningly beautiful, the colours are stylised and chaotic, but they fit so well into the games world, and the variety in items, locations, characters, and atmospheres is truly impressive, especially so once you start paying attention to how detailed it all is.
